Hospital X-ray protection, MRI scanning, observation windows, door glazing, nuclear medicine application, special mitre joint and lamination with float glass allow extended window sizes, creating better observation environments. Multiple
glazing units providing shaped observation solutions. Due to its special composition, RD 50® is also excellently suited for PET applications and offers optimum protection effect. Therefore RD 50
® can be used in the combination of PET and CT. Key markets are analytical and medical.

A material with unlimited potential. Whether it be as an oven door window or a biochip used in modern medical technology, or as a component utilized in theater spotlights, film projectors or diving robots, few glass types can claim to be as versatile
as BOROFLOAT® 33 . Even space exploration has adopted the material as a key component in research telescopes, enabling scientists to view fascinating, new dimensions.
The glass is heated to temperatures above its transformation temperature and then cooled down abruptly. The glass should be cut and sanded before the heat treatment. Subsequent processing is no longer possible. When the glass breaks
under heavy load, it breaks down into small blunt glass particles. This glass reduces the risk of injury compared to normal flat glass.
Toughened float glass has been used in automotive construction for front windshieldglases for many decades and effectively prevents cutting and impact injuries. The same service is also provided in the household.
It can be laminated with RD 30® or RD 50® and PVB-foil. This makes the glass much more robust and less susceptible to scratches and breakage.
PYRAN® / PYRANOVA® / fire resistant glass
Environments / Applications
is far superior to the traditional types of glass used in fire resistant glass. The secret lies in the interaction between the material and the production process. Manufactured in a micro float facility, which is unique within
the world, the fire resistant properties of the special float glass surpass those of soda lime glass by far. The unique combination of borosilicate glass and the float process result in the special glass type PYRAN®S
with outstanding properties.
Fire resistant glazing with PYRAN® protects against the spread of fire, hot gases and smoke. Even under high thermal loads, the glazing stays transparent, ensuring that the burning building can be safely
evacuated. PYRAN® have been internationally approved and are ideally suited for: Facades, partition walls, skylights and rooflights, doors, roofs, smoke screens, lift door glazing, lift shaft.
Anti-reflex Glass for facades, glazing pictures and displays
Environments / Applications
We can offer several brands of anti-reflective glass for facades offers crystal clear transparency,
even with a significant difference in the amount of light in front of and behind the pane.
It reduces reflections to just a fraction of those seen with conventional glass.
Our anti-reflective glass can be used for display windows and showrooms, interpreter cabins,
VIP seating areas in stadiums and panorama restaurants, television and recording studios, facades and balustrades,
lobbies and foyers and also for displays or picture glazings.
ROBAX® - Fire viewing panels / glass
Environments / Applications
Flat ROBAX® panels offer clear views and a long product life.
These are available as random sheets or cut-to-size panels.
Random sheets are 1,954 x 1,100 mm in size with 4 mm or 5 mm thickness, and serve as base material for cut-to-size panels.
Cut-to-size panels are available in a wide range of sizes in thicknesses of 4 mm or 5 mm.
They are finished according to your wishes, come with edge processing, and may have decoration or other specialties depending on your requirements.
The clean, simple style of flat ROBAX® panels delivers increased functionality.
Fire-viewing panels covers every situation – wood, gas and pellet fireplaces and stoves for inside and out.
